Vampires. They’re said to be drop-dead gorgeous, cold as ice, and the drinker of blood. They’ve also been known to be unable to walk in the sunlight, a stake through the heart kills them, and they can’t touch anything holy. Garlic is their bane, they have magical powers, and that they have increased human abilities. Some have even said that they can walk in the sun, and that they sparkle.
Lets tell you the real deal.
Is it a myth that when one is bitten, you become a vampire? No, no it is not. It just depends on the amount of venom injected into the human. A tiny bit won't change them, and if you drain them to near death, they will die unless given vampiric blood to sustain them through the change. So, if a vampire can stave off their lust for the blood long enough, they can change a human. However, if they're emotionally stressed or are under attack, the venom runs more fluidly. This is because the only ones that really put up a fight against the vampires are the hunters and the werewolves. The werewolves have a weakness when it comes to vampires, and that is the venom in their mouths. A vampiric bite will cause much pain, but not death. Multiple bites, or a prolonged bite will increase the pain, and will result in death if the werewolf is not careful.
Vampires don’t sparkle. Never have, never will. That would be just a damn nuisance, seeing how they can walk in the sun. Yeah, you heard me. You could be talking to a vampire any day of the week, any time of day, and they have the possibility of being a vampire. There is a limit, though. A half-vampire, one born between a vampire and a human, can only be out in the sun for a maximum of three hours of sunlight. A vampire, one that was bitten and changed, can stay out five hours before they start to feel the heat. Finally, a pureblood vampire, one who was born to vampire parents, can last seven hours in the sun. After these time limits, they start to get warm, and then hotter, until they start turning red and burning. If they don’t get out of the sun quickly, they can turn into ash.
Vampires are “perfect” beings, in all except they drink blood and are as cold as ice. They are frozen in time at the age of their change, or, if they were born, they will reach approximately their eighteenth year in appearance age before they quit changing and are locked in time. For an hour or two after the drinking of human blood, their skin is warmer, but after that time, it becomes colder again. Vampires who drink human blood are more powerful than other vampires that drink other blood – animal or donated. Fresh human blood is stronger than donated blood, which is much stronger than animal blood. This power is shown in their super human strength, speed, and charm. They also may have a power, such as empathy, mind reading, or a slight fire manipulation skill. The blood they drink is reflected in their powers.
There are multiple ways to kill a vampire, supposedly. Some say garlic, others say a stake through the heart, or maybe you want to try holy water instead. There are other rumors that beheading works, the severing of all limbs so that they cannot regenerate, or burning. Well, garlic isn’t dangerous to them, it’s just a plant people. Beheading, burning, ripping the limbs from the body, and staking their heart will kill them – just as it will kill a human or a werewolf. Honestly, people, use your brains. Could you survive one of those scenarios? Sure, a vampire can survive a few plain, steel bullets, but that’s about the only difference between them and us. However, anything holy is dangerous to them. Holy water, blessed steel, or consecrated ground; any of these can prove dangerous to a vampire. A holy place, such as a church, is a sanctuary, holy water mixed into the bullets will hurt them, or a blessed steel dagger will pierce them. These are their bane.
