((theme song: kissykiss - the kills))Jade had taken quite a couple swigs of vodka on her way home from the graveyard. She smelled of wet, pathetic mutt and it was sickening. Deciding the smell would subside if her mind was not all there. You would think after all her years she would be a better drunk driver, but in truth she had always preferred either on foot or horseback to cars. Her audi is much sexier than horseback though. The town went by in a blurr, such a vile stench in her nostrils - she took another swig, soon the road began to narrow and the cobblestones shook the car. Nearly veering off into the oak trees she swerved and slammed on the brakes right before the iron gate. Laughing at herself she pressed the button in her car and waited for the gate to completely open. Parking it in-front of her door she noticed a small letter pinned to it, from just the red-ink sealant she knew it was from her father. It smelled of human, she was suspicious now, glancing all around her yard the stone statues seemed to glance back. Shrugging it off she entered her manor, greeted by Mord her darling doberman. "You are the only dog I adore." She knelt down and gave him a kiss upon his head. Leaning against the large glass window - large enough to be considered a wall, she opened the letter. 'Dearest Jade, I have been doing well in Alaska and I hope to see you soon. I met a fair duke and I believe he has some business to attend in Ashshire. William is his name and I gave him grant to come stay with you, he is a good friend of mine so please don't go ripping any heads off.' Jade was no fool, this was something deeper and Corinth was keeping her out of it. Tossing the letter on the floor she narrowed her eyes and looked over the bright town lights below.
"I suppose some company would be nice.." Tapping her head against the window, she scraped her nails against it and Mord barked at her. "Sorry Mord, just a little confused." He wagged his tale and leaned against her while she gently scratched behind his ears. All she hoped was that this vampire was no fool, well he is a friend of Corinth's. "But Corinth is always full of tricks and unexpected twists. After nearly three-hundred years I still don't know much about him." Mord looked up at her with confused eyes. He started to lick at her bloody leather boots, reminding her that she should go change."You would think you yourself were a vampire, I wonder.." Could a dog ever be transformed? Jade flexed her fangs for a moment, thinking better she decided to test it out on a stray she cared not about. She made her way to the door hidden by a rug beneath the staircase, opening it she jumped down inside. The small room kept every piece of clothing she had since the nineteenth century. She chose a more relaxing outfit and jumped up to the main floor, shutting the basement door.
The letter told her nothing about when to expect her guest and knowing Corinth it wouldn't take too long, she expected him to arrive sometime tomorrow if not tonight. Mord followed her as she made her way to the second floor, he rested on the floor near the staircase and watched Jade open up a couple of the rectangle windows. Bowing to the portrait of Corinth she grinned her soft smile, put her curled hair on one shoulder and sat down at her old piano. It was all white with a beautiful design of twists and tangles, hidden faces and pictures. Jade closed her eyes and began to play her favorite piece, the very first one Corinth had taught her. It had a soft beginning with many ups and downs, but always a peaceful hymn in the background. To Jade it described the transformation and the eternal life, but music tends to have many variations of meaning. Didn't take long for Mord to fall fast asleep.

Twilight. The fading of daylight, and the inception of night, the grey middle ground that drove most humans to their houses, and most nocturnal creatures to hunt. Being a mix of the two, William found it his favored time of day, the half-light restful on his eyes, the rest of his senses running wild, becoming wound and tangled in the fading days scents, the new nights tastes. Twigs snapped under his gentle footfalls, and a cool breeze sang in his ears, bringing with it faroff sounds of bustling cities, of dogs barking, of doves cooing and of wolves howling. Above him, the thick canopy of the forest had darkened his immediate surroundings, barely any light penetrating the thousands of reddening leaves. From what Corinth had told him, he was close.
The slow incline of the ground underfoot suggested he had finally reached the hills on the outskirts of the town named 'Ashshire', and, if his friends directions were accurate, 'Haus von Assylus' was close. Through the gloom, amber eyes followed a cobbled path, leading up to a wrought iron gate, standing at least two people high. Beyond that, a garden, lined with statues, fountains, a car...a white-walled house. Smiling to himself, he noted the lavishness of the setting, the gothic aura the property gave off...clearly, the girl he had been sent to meet had expensive and exquisite tastes.
Speeding up, his destination in sight, he bypassed the gates, hurling his body at the wall surrounding the area, adhering to it with ease. Seconds later, his slim, toned body dropped over the other side, and he landed neatly on the balls of his feet. Standing, he brushed himself down, and licking his lips, he made straight for the great oak doors. How he loved the element of surprise...
William had left his car and luggage back in the woods for a reason. Simply, he had wanted to surprise the houses owner, one Miss Jade Assylus, wanted to appear out of the blue, as he had found that when another being was shocked or taken aback, they revealed their true self more readily. If William were to stay with this girl indefinately, as he had promised Corinth he would, then he would need to make sure he could stand her. First impressions were everything.
It was with that thought in mind he reached the front door, and balling his fist, rapped three times, each one short, sharp ; neat. Unbuttoning the second button of his shirt, he thought of ways to address the lady of the house, and repeated a few different greetings under his breath. 'Hello...hi...I'm William, you must be Jade...no..' He knocked again as he muttered to himself, listening intently for any sound beyond the oak that stood between him and a possible place of residence.

Jade's peaceful playing of the piano ceased as her attention was quickly grabbed by Mord abruptly sitting up. She may have better hearing and vision then Mord, but his sole job was to alert her if any intruders so happened to lay a foot upon her property - her being so easily distracted to pay attention. His pointy black ears pointed toward her door and he dashed down the winding staircase to the first floor, growling at the door. Jade shook her head, "Corinth.." flipping her hair off of the one shoulder, she let it loosely hang over her back. She took her time coming down stairs, letting her cold hand trace the black wooden railing curling down to the door. Who ever this man may be, he certainly made a point to show up on time. The sound of her heels clicking on the tile made Mord turn around as if to beg her to let him maul the visitor. "Back down, dearest Mord." She signaled to him with a gently raising of her palm and motioned for him to wait on the rug under the staircase. Not like her mere doberman could do much damage to a vampire, she was more wanting him to back down for his own safety.
She paused inches in-front of the large oak door, taking in the man's scent behind it - no, not creepy, cautious. Jade knew nothing of Corinth's doings in Alaska and she was not sure if their trust with each-other was still legitimate. After all, Seneca thought she could completely trust Corinth.. Jade shook her head fast, kicking out the memory. There was many locks on her door; click, clank, thud, she unlocked each one fast and with ease. Slowly she opened the door, a smile hit her lips - he was very handsome. "Hello William, I'm Jade." She paused a moment, "But I'm sure you already knew that." Stepping to the side she held the door open for him, she made sure her voice sounded calm and expectant when really she was thrown off at his sudden arrival and had not the slightest idea what to do with him. "Um, this is Mord." She pointed at the obediently sitting hound, a little disappointed at herself for letting a clueless um slip out.
"I hope you found your way easily?" Her attempts for smalltalk were sincere, after all you have to start off somewhere to know who someone is. Especially if that someone was sent by Corinth. A small shiver went up her spine, Mord glared at her in curiosity. Spotting her car nearly parked up on the steps to her door, "My apologies for my car - I wasn't expecting company so soon." Jade giggled playfully and shut the door. Walking passed him she leaned against the glass window, "I suppose you might enjoy a tour?" Jade grinned, bright white fangs and an inquisitively raised brow.

The sound of locks being drawn and pulled back brought William to his senses, and to stop himself looking insane, he ceased his muttering, straightened out and waited expectantly for the door to be opened. As it was, the warm light shining from within the house bathed him, and it caused him to squint a little, the natural light of the evening overpowering his sense of vision. For a moment, the woman that appeared was just a silhouette, a shape that blocked some of the offensive light, but as he grew accustomed to the new luminosity, he began to see features.
Corinth had promised that Miss Assylus was stunning, and he had not lied. Her face was finely chiseled, like the statue of a godess, and her eyes, while pale, were perfectly rimmed with dark make-up, drawing him to them. Her skin was flawless, and appeared like porcelain. Despite her inherant strength, she looked ready to crumble at the slightest of touches. Her slim figure only added to the effect. Lost for words for a moment, he was glad that she introduced herself, and quickly followed it by suggesting she knew who he was, saving himself the introduction.
As she stepped aside to let him in, he noted her hair, dark, almost like the feathers of a raven, and he had to actively stop himself staring at her, finally asserting enough control to walk through the door, and take a long look around the room he found himself in, trying not to return his gaze straight back to the hostess. He remained silent.
Listening hard to what she said, he nodded off hand at the dog, Mord, as if it were another humane being, and noted the 'uhm' in her sentence, her slight hesitation. Did he make her uncomfortable? Was she flustered? He let a playful smile cross his lips, lifting his cheek a little. It showed a strong self confidence, and were his smile to be a movement, it would look to be a swagger. Eyes wide, he snapped his head back to face her, and tilted his head a little.
'I found my way fine, thank you. You have some rather beautiful countryside.' His soft voice betrayed an English accent, but it had been worn down to be barely noticable, time away from his home eroding the language he had so loved. He barely chuckled at her comment about her car, as it confirmed his suspicions. He had taken her by surprise. She had no idea of when he was to arrive.
As the girl moved from the door, and leaned against a large, glass window, looking to allow people to instantly step into the perfect view beyond it, he followed, pretending to scan the surroundings, while infact he was scanning her. He too came to lean on the same surface, matching her pose, and with a slight nod he agreed to a tour. 'A tour would be perfect. From what I can see, you have quite the beautiful...abode.' He was forced to control the end of his sentance to prevent his tongue running away from him. Abode replaced the word rear, and while it were true, he had no want to get thrown out of her house just yet.

It was a good thing Jade decided to get the windows double bulletproof, and no not because of 'silver bullets' but because she tends to make scratches with her sharp nails whenever she leans on it. Usually following the terrible sound is Mord whimpering, but seeing as she now has company Jade refrained from creating such a horrid sound. She smiled at his compliment of the countryside, yes - she too appreciated the gorgeous view. In all her past manors, she's refused to live anywhere without a pretty overlook. Of course all her old residences were chosen by Corinth..he had good taste. I wonder what his Alaskan haus looks like? At this thought she glanced at William, a miniature tinge of jealousy for the slightest second disappearing as soon as it came.
Jade liked the way William moved, something ancient and profound about him. Stirring up her past fionce and how much Corinth despised him for being so weak in education and experience, Jade grinned almost wickedly at her own thoughts. "Folgen Sie." Her frequent change from favoring Russian to German might be hard to follow, she was in a way testing William and his own education. Though it wouldn't take a genius to know what she meant, for she pushed herself off of the glass and walked into the kitchen. "The Küche, I don't hardly use it unless..well unless I have guests that actually eat." Opening her arms she turned in a circle, as if she were selling the place. Her personal favorite use of this room was to store the many knives - numerous they were all hanging along the wall. Walking past William she got close enough to feel his breath if he were to decide to breathe. Smiling she gestured for him to continue to follow with her index finger, passing Mord she went up the winding staircase to the second floor. "Relax Mord." Her tone more serious, giving Mord a little glare for he was close on Williams heels, whimpering he ran back down to his rug.
Jade dashed to the piano and sat down on one of the sides, fast enough to where the maroon curtains on the sides of the rectangular windows danced. She looked very small behind the large piano, peeking at Williams charming frame. Jade was starting to let her guard down already and that started to worry her. "I've had this piano for ages." She grinned and patted the empty spot next to her. "Do you play?" The large painting of Corinth above her was perfect for her to see his reaction, was he intimidated by Corinth - or were they really good friends? Or was this whole thing a trick by his enemy clan to try to kill her with her guard down.. Her eyes narrowed at this thought, keeping them looking down at the piano as to not give away her thoughts. Jade began to play a couple notes before her curiosity thirsted for satisfaction, "How is it you know Corinth?" she tried her best to make her tone innocent and sweet in hopes of an honest answer.
The tour didn't end there, she figured why the rush when they have - eternity? She almost choked aloud at that, her father never did tell her how long he would be staying. It wouldn't be wise to ask right now, he had just arrived. Jade grew uneasy about whether he would ask to see the attic, after all the staircase didn't end at the third floor. Would she lie and tell him she doesn't have the key? Not like he couldn't knock the door down.. Jade bit the inside of her cheek, conserving her worry and keeping her cool in appearance.

As the pair leaned on the vast glass wall, mirroring each others posture and body language, William’s eyes never left hers. He noted any slight facial movement, the curve of her lips into a smile, a slightly displeased pout, the second lasting only for a moment, as if there was a fleeting thought skipping across her mind, momentarily annoying her, yet still his only response was to remain silent, grinning at her, amber eyes sparkling in the light.
‘Folgen sie.’ It was a simple command, and had he not already understood its meaning he would have worked it out, her slim form detaching itself from its resting place and wandering off toward another room. Obeying the order, he copied her movement, and slunk after her, moving lightly on his feet, padding along behind her with a disturbing quiet. He was led into a kitchen, pristine, and it looked as if it had never been used. Then she had said, it was only used when ‘eating’ guests were around. He supposed that she had few of the sort visit her in the past. Noting her vast collection of knives, he ran his tongue over his lower teeth, and let out a low whistle. ‘I see you collect kitchen knives? Do you have a favourite? I, personally, am a fan of the cleaver.’ He shot her a wide grin, which was quickly wiped from his face as she pressed herself closer to him, pushing past to continue the tour. He inhaled as deeply and quietly as possible, taking note of the scent of her hair, and he followed enthralled, taking note only of the dog on the journey, to which he cast a sly grin. Could the dog talk, or understand human faces, he would have known the grin meant ‘I’m replacing you.’
On reaching the second floor, the girl darted off ahead of him, and instead of matching her speed, he continued forward at his own pace, enjoying seeing the inside of another vampires property. Taking a quick look around the room, his eyes found Jade again, and she was sat behind a huge piano, peeking out at him with wide eyes. He winked, and headed toward her, sliding into the empty spot she so eagerly patted. Looking at the keys, he stretched his long fingers out, and played a quick set of staccato notes. ‘Yes. I do play.’ He turned to look at her, still grinning his lopsided half smile. ‘Though unfortunately…not for some time.’He paused for a moment, and dropped his gaze to the instrument once again, and then played a few more notes, both hands working together to form a sweet melody. He continued in that vein for a minute only, and then stopped, taking both hands quickly away. ‘I think some practice will be needed before I play before the lady of the house.’
Her next question was clearly some attempt at a probe, her way of making sure she wouldn’t need to rip him to pieces. He breathed a lengthy sigh, and then turned his attention to the large painting of Corinth that sat above them. Shaking his head a little, he ran a splayed palm through his hair, and then made a short, curt answer. ‘We met in Alaska a few months ago. We found we had similar…interests…if you follow me. Since then, we did a little hunting together and discussed our past lives; he was someone to talk to. I had lived a rather solitary life to that point…I helped him dispatch a few unwanted friends…and in return he offered me residence in a place with a higher…population count.’Shrugging, he leant back, and his golden eyes were locked on Jade’s face, waiting for her next set of questions.

The sort of lighting the kitchen gave made William all the more attractive, sparking a side of Jade's persona. What she had meant by it was only meant for guests that eat is simple, her favored game to play was one of lust. She would attract a male human, make him feel special as if she too were so very in to him and bring him back to her place. He would then show off his cooking skills, Jade would pretend she eat the food (feeding it to Mord who knew the routine and would wait patiently under the table). Then when the human would get close enough to kiss she would take his life. On very rare occasions would she toy with them around the house, making them fall all the more in love. I suppose you could say there is a wicked side to Jade that enjoyed watching heartbreak and the last glimpse of life slither out of their once bright eyes. "Yes, I do love knives." She traced her finger against one of the big ones, raising a slim brow to his question. "The big ones." Jade winked, her voice hinting a double meaning only for a moment. She had to remember this was no midnight snack, that he is here to stay for as long as he wishes. Nodding slightly to herself, she made a mental note to do her best to refrain from seduction.
Oh she did miss the smell of a friendly vampire, it was very strong when he had took her motion of sitting next to her. He smelled like a forbidden lust..blinking she hid that thought in the crevices of her mind. Jade was suddenly timid in mind-set, Corinth had told her of gifts vampires were able to receive on rare occasions. She simply hoped William's was not mind reading. If it were, the temptation to kill him would be all the more stronger, having someone reading her every thought would become annoying to say the least. Though she did have a dealing with a mind-reader before when she was being probed about the whereabouts of Corinth, keeping the answer out of thought wasn't hard with her father's training but to do so every moment would be a challenge.
Jade smiled at the notes he played, his hands moved with ease even if he did claim to be a bit rusty. before I play before the lady of the house She could not help but laugh at his remark, "I think you play just fine." Giving him a playful wink crossed her legs for comfort. His answer to how he knew Corinth seemed very summarized and pre-practiced but she did like the whole mystery of it. Besides, she knew for a fact that it was Corinth who sent him because no one could forge such a signature. Jade smiled to give him feedback on his answer and slid herself off the bench. "Shall I show you the last floor?" From the outside he could probably tell it was not the last floor, but maybe he hadn't noticed - maybe.
Walking lightly up the staircase she got off at the next little opening, the stairs still able to continue seemingly into the dark. Jade shrugged at the large collection of books covering the walls, sitting down on the circular bed in the center. "Sleepless nights, ya know?" She giggled and stepped over a couple of sprawled books on the floor, motioning him to keep following. "One of my favorite parts of the house, kind of makes you feel like Queen of the world - or King." Teasingly she stuck her pink tongue out at him, while she leaned over the balcony railing overlooking the town below.
"So, where do you keep your luggage?" Her eyes looked him over with a grin, "I doubt it would fit in your pockets.." a playful tone almost tempted her to touch the opening of his shirt, feel his cold skin against hers. But no, she would not give in - not yet anyway.

‘I think you play just fine.’ Turning to her, and her soft laugh, she shook his head. ‘Trust me, I will play far better after a few weeks of practice.’ Her sweet smile held his gaze for a moment, and he was only able to sit, frozen to the piano’s bench as she slid away, watching her every movement as an owl watches a running mouse. He could hardly have been more predatory if he had licked his lips. Using her question to springboard back to his senses, he nodded hurriedly. ‘The last floor..yes…’
Following her from the room, up another short flight of stairs, he paused at the crossroads they reached, and as she turned off into the small hollow that led to a larger chamber he looked up the next flight of stairs, intrigued. While it would be rude to ask why she had lied to him, why she had not told him of the upper floor, he was hardly about to let it pass, and act as if he had not noticed the steps continuation. Feeling a little offended she would have believed him stupid enough to lie outright to him, he made a mental note of her action, and decided to press the point at a later time, not wishing to place a rock on the track of their relationship so soon.
Entering the room, the smell of leather bound paper hit him full on, and he took an obvious deep breath, the smell of books one of his favourite in the world. Looking around the room with an obvious glee, he noted Jade sitting down. It was only for a moment, but he let his eyes rove over her shapely legs, but returned his attention to the books soon after, not wishing her to noticed him as she stood. As she motioned for him to continue following her, he did so readily, and ended up nearly colliding with her as they reached the balcony. She was right. It did make one feel like a king. As she poked her tongue out at him, and then leaned over the railing, he looked out over Ashshire. Nodding to no one inparticual, he resolved that he liked the place, and would remain so long as Jade allowed it. There was much to look at…both out the house and in. William was all for living an aesthetically pleased life.
‘So, where do you keep you luggage?’ She was obviously beginning to loosen up, and question him about the more confusing details about his arrival. Smiling broadly, he tapped his temple. ‘I keep my baggage here. Luggage is an entirely different thing…’ Making a move to reach for his crotch he stopped half way, eyes wide, grinning like a playful teenager. ‘I keep my luggage…’ His hand strayed a little further before he clasped it into a fist, and then shrugged. ‘Ah yes, I remember now. I left it with my car.’ Winking teasingly, an earlier comment from the kitchen tour came back to him ‘I do love knives. The big ones.’Chuckling to himself, he left the balcony and stepped quickly to her bed, dropping neatly onto it. Laying his hands on his knees, he tilted his head in a questioning way.
‘So, what distracts you from sleep at night Miss Assylus…and pray tell, if this is the top floor, what room sits directly above us?’ Pointing to the ceiling, he raised an eyebrow, while never taking his eyes from hers.

Jade exhaled lightly, relieved that he followed her instead of checking out the attic. Watching him linger at the staircase from the corner of her eye would have made her heart stand still - if it still were to beat. There were things up there that could easily change his judgement of her, she was a much more cyncal being then may appear and William seemed rather civil and gentlemen-like.
Her grin was very wide, her large fangs gleaming in the moonlight while she watched him return the playfulness. She giggled like a virgin girl in her first year of high school. "Oh, and your car is where?" Jade didn't truly care for the answer, it was a question asked to tease his precautions. In showing she gave not much of a care for the whereabouts she made her way back into her favorite room of the house, leaning against one of the bookshelves she called for Mord with a light whistle. "Good boy." He sure loved her long nails lightly scratching behind his tall ears. "The only canine I can put up with.." She giggled at this, glancing at William her smile lingered as she watched him hop on her bed. Temptations. His charming voice filled her head once more, not so pleasant this time. Two rather difficult questions to answer.
"Well, I hardly feel the need for sleep. Sort of like an old habit from when I was young. I would much rather spend my time with other things." After all, she only had about a thousand years left. Sleeping at night was a dread for Jade because that was her favorite time to go have a snack or simply enjoy the town. While during the day she did much of her painting, reading, and other things. Biting her bottom lip, nearly squeezing a drop of blood into her mouth she watched him carefully. "You noticed the attic, well you're not as idiotic as most." A playful wink - and she was back to her long pause of how to answer him. Mord whimpered at a sensed tension emitting from Jade, it wasn't like her to be nervous. "Toys." Her sly grin was back, eyes seeming to look past William. "And old memories." Jade was not about to offer to show him it, never crossed her mind. She kept secrets that even Corinth would be ashamed of her for holding onto. Though she did also store some of his dungeon toys; torture tools mostly belonged to Corinth, but the array of weapons were bought by Jade. Much of it she hushed from her mind, a precaution just in case he would somehow know.
She wasn't exactly sure how to change subject or whether she could with William, he didn't seem like the type to be easily distracted. "Did you always reside in Alaska?" Ew. Such a terrible attempt, she couldn't help but shake her head at herself.

‘Oh, and your car is where?’ He knew she didn’t care, but the teasing tone of her voice was hardly something he could ignore, and as she passed him going back into her bedroom, he sneakily reached out and squeezed her rear, and then winked, a mischievous glint in his eye. ‘Back there’ he retorted, his former action leaving no need for explanation.
As he sat, he heard the far off footsteps of the dog padding up the stairs, and he appeared moments later, heading straight to his mistress’ side, staring with disdain at the vampire on her bed. He winked at the dog, and hoped it understood that he’d be living there for the foreseeable future, that if he were to keep glaring at him, he would start a fight that he certainly couldn’t win.
He noticed Jade stare at him before she made to answer his questions, and while there was no rush, he awaited their answers eagerly. The first question was less meaningful than the second, but he had wanted to test the waters, so to speak. Leaning back on the bed, he stretched out, spreading his limbs over the bed in the most seductive way he could manage. Leaning his head on his palm, he stared at her as she stumbled through her first answer, and winked as she paused before starting the second.
Her answers were quite as mysterious as he had imagined. While she offered a solid reasoning for the first question, the second was treated to three words. ‘Toy’s’ and ‘Old Memories’. It made him all the more interested, although having known the girl for less than a day, he decided to let his inquisitive nature rest. There would be plenty of time to ask her again, and on and on if she continued to be so illusive.
‘Toy’s hmm? What kind of ‘toys?’ The smile on his face was a little dirty, and he bit his tongue quickly afterward, doing his best to reign in his lustful appetite for the other vampire.
Her change of subject suggested, with a certain finality, that she no longer wanted to talk about herself, and she was happy to question him about his previous living arrangements. Smiling, he shrugged. ‘No. I have not always lived in Alaska.’ He paused, and then stopped speaking all together. If she were allowed a little mystery, then so was he. ‘Have you always lived here?’

The light pinch William gave her sent a warm rush to her pallid cheeks, blushing from the inside out even if her cheeks were too pale to notice. It stirred a sensation to play, even moments afterward when she were petting Mord she could still feel his touch. Jade decided she would have to get him back the next chance she got. Her small pink tongue licked her plump lips as she watched him stretch, maybe he did it on purpose - stretching to where his shirt went up a little to showoff his lower waist. She felt dry in the throat, a lump in her chest and thorns in her stomach. It was not OK to her to be so much in lust with this male, this vampire. She was supposed to be pulling the strings and making him dance, but oh no the tables have turned and she felt nauseous about it.
A foxy grin emitted across her lips, "Toys with cruel intentions.." she returned a light wink. Jade liked to give him something his imagination could play with, it were true though - all the toys in the attic weren't meant for good. She was almost tempted to give in and show him the attic but that wouldn't be much fun. Ghastly! Just from the simple gestures he makes, his superpower must be manipulation! Her own thoughts made her giggle a little, glancing from Mord back to William then back to Mord. His answers were short and ill-informing too, she almost found it charming - in an irritating way of course... "No. I've lived many places." Pausing, she gave him a more narrow expression as if to show she would play back the same game. A stubborn girl since she popped out of the womb, took them hours - so she's heard. He won't tell her much, nor will she.
Without much thought about it, she walked away from Mord and hopped on the bed next to him. Her hand accidentally landed right upon his 'luggage', Jade moved it off slowly with a catty grin. "I've lived with Corinth since I was very young..." She began after comfortably placing her hands on her own lap. "Since you're such a good friend of his, I'm sure you know his past residences." A more playfully questioning tone, hardly sarcastic. "Mord, gehen sie ergreift mamashandtasche." The doberman bolted down the stairs with what seemed to be a smile upon his face, "He seems to only listen to big commands in German." Jade shrugged and clapped for Mord when he returned with her purse in his slobbery mouth. Moving to lay on her stomach, opposite end of which William was facing, her revealed slender legs teasingly rubbed against each-other. Jade grinned as she took the purse and pulled out a treat for him. She tossed it across the room and Mord bounded after it excitedly. Taking out a silver flask she sat up to take a quick swig then held it out toward William with a questioning expression.

The game the pair were playing fascinated William. They could spend an eternity reversing the roles of cat and mouse, one asking the question, the other answering with as little information as possible, only to ask a question that received a similar treatment. Looking at her almost animalistic grin, he tilted his head a little, and cocked an eyebrow. As she finished her answer, he decided to remain quiet for a little, to see if she would elaborate. After all, the silence may make her uncomfortable, and she may just have to fill it with titbits of information, treating him to snippets of her past life as she would treat her dog.
He hardly expected to be the one made uncomfortable; he thought that, like in most social situations, he had the upper hand. Her dropping next to him and placing her hand, accidentally or otherwise, on his groin shocked him so much that he bolted upright from his lounging position, eyes wide, and breathed a sharp intake of breath, holding it for a moment. He had already been tantalized by her gentle curves, her wily smile, and her remarkably pert rear and now, as if she could read the inner most thoughts of his mind, she capitalized on his obvious weakness, his vague attraction to her.
As she slowly removed her hand, trailing it away, stroking the denim fabric of his jeans, he let out his pent up breath, and then relaxed a little, and only a little, keeping his eyes fixed on her face. As she rested her open palms in her lap, he let his gaze traverse her entire body, slowly, and intently, eyes moving down her neck to her chest, where they roved over her curves, and he imagined running his hand over her, tracing her outline in his mind. As his inspection reached her thighs, a slight movement caused them to rub together gently, tightening her pale skin, and he let out a short gasp. It was then that he realized she had been speaking to him, things had happened around him, the dog had left and returned carrying something, and she held out a flask in his direction, eyebrow raised in a silent question.
Thinking back as quickly as he could, he tried to remember what she had said to him while he had been mentally ravishing her, and he came up with very little. To say his mind had been completely elsewhere had been an understatement. It had both been somewhere else, and doing something else. Shaking his head, he reached for the flask, and looked at it, attempting to pass off his distant demeanour as one of his more natural acts, as so far, he had been remarkably quiet. Taking the cold silver from her, he brought it up to his lips, but did not drink. Instead he let it hover there, as if he were about to test it like a fine wine.
‘What’s the poison?’ he asked, sniffing at the neck carefully, squinting his eyes in a questioning manner.

In every room in the house there tends to be at least one mirror, varying on size. For this chamber, on the wall behind the bed, separating the balcony from the main area, hung a large wooden-framed mirror. Seeing the mirror from the corner of her eye with not just her in the reflection but William as well. It felt very alien, she was so used to the loud silence of the house and how she could feel the emptiness in every room. Jade used to crave the quiet and the solitude. Her eyes didn't leave the mirrored reflection of William for quite a few moments. The only other company she's had was Corinth, of course there was Seneca for a short period of time but she didn't count in Jade's eyes. She had a love for Corinth but looking at William, he gave her a sensational feeling of lust one that she was very unfamiliar with. Not even James had given her those feelings, to think she was going to wed to him! Subconsciously she broke her stare at the mirror and glanced up toward the attic. She would have to do some cleaning up...
Her eyes darted back to William at the smooth sound of his voice, she wanted nothing more than to run her hand through his curious hair, well maybe a little more than that. She was almost positive she had felt more than denim under her hand. His lips looked so..kissable. Blinking lightly she hastily answered his question, vocals too fast for a humans ears. "It's a secret, but it's good. I guess you could say it is one of my bad habits, vodka just tastes so wonderful!" It reminded her of a toxic venom that would give her a high sort of zing in her mind. Jade raised a thin brow at his hesitation. "Besides, I wouldn't need poison if I wanted to take you out.." She winked, giving him a playful challenge. Honestly Jade didn't expect him to take her up on it, so she remained relaxed. Mord too seemed comfortable enough with the new intruder, his soft snores crept into her ears from across the room. William seemed to be keeping quiet, all her rambling and not a word, she couldn't refrain from wondering his own thoughts. Being able to read minds would be very handy.
Jade couldn't resist a smirk at the idea of a playful fight, it would give her an excuse to touch him. The tiny, irritating, whinny voice in the back of her head screamed at her for liking this male so quickly. It wasn't like she had a thing to loose, if he turned out to be a trick from Corinth, Jade believed she could kill him like she did James. I could loose Corinth.. She loved him as a father and a teacher, yes. But she had little trust in him. Jade refused to fall into a blind trap, which happens often when you fully give away your trust. She had always learned from her mistakes and others', making a pact to herself never to make it again. Remembering being told to kill off Seneca, which she loyally did, Jade had seemed to replace her in a closer daughterly sort of way. So what if he found a new replacement in Alaska, sending William to rid of her? Then why is he male? Corinth not confident enough in his new toy? Nearly laughing aloud at her own thoughts, she tried her best to keep the paranoia out of thought.

Smiling at her self-confidence, William pressed the flask to his lips and took a long swig. The liquid, despite burning his throat as he swallowed, was remarkably refreshing, and a slight haze came to his head almost instantly. There was more than just vodka in her flask, of that much he was certain. Having been ‘dead’ for 400 odd years, alcohol had little effect on him, and even drinks that did took their time to work their way into his blood stream, even longer to daze him. This stuff worked almost instantly, and he felt his self-control diminish considerably.
Offering the flask back to Jade, he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, and narrowed his eyes. Looking at her for a moment, he noted that she was lost in her own world, and he wished he was able to draw her thoughts from her head, verbally or otherwise. Alas, he would have to wait. Perhaps her venomous concoction would help.
As she winked at him, confirming her verbal challenge, he pursed his lips, smiled, and dropped his head, looking away from her and at the sheets of her bed. ‘Is that so? What makes you think taking me out is that easy?’ Finishing his sentence slowly, he looked back at her, playful grin covering his face, amber eyes dark. He let out a low chuckle that rumbled in his chest, and shook his head. Leaning back a little and slouching, he let the flask go, the empty silver container lying on its side amidst the crimson sheets. ‘For all you know, I could be the one taking you out.’
His relaxed position was a ploy, a well executed ruse, perfected through centuries of practice. Despite the lounging position his body seemed to lie in, his muscles were coiled as tightly as springs, tensed like a powerful cat ready to pounce. And pounce he did.
Lunging forward with unparalleled speed, he lept from the bed and landed close behind her in one graceful, agile leap. In the time it took for her to breathe once, one muscled arm was wrapped around her shoulders, pulling her slim body to his, her rear to his crotch, and his other arm locked around her waist, keeping her from moving. Stepping back, he dragged her body from the bed, giving her a second to find her feet, not that he couldn’t hold her weight if she decided not to find support.
Leaning forward, he buried his nose first in her hair, and then trailed his face from her crown to her ear. ‘So now I’ve drunk your poison, do you want to tell me what was in it?’ His words left his mouth little louder than a whisper, and he over accentuated each movement his soft, pink lips made, brushing them teasingly against her ear lobe. The pronunciation of ‘it’ ended the sentence with a bite, and he grinded his teeth against one another to emphasise that point.
Under his upper palm, he felt her chest rise and fall, and he resisted the urge to drop his hand. His lower palm had gripped the silken white of her dress, and he balled the fabric tight in his grasp, pulling the rest of her clothing taut.
‘Never know, it make save your life’ he added, in a more playful tone, showing her and her now alert dog that he was in fact not about to attempt to tear her limb from limb, but had just risen to her challenge.

Jade's thin hands took the cold flask and took another swig, tasting his prior touch on the rim. Licking her lips she looked up at him, grinning at his questioning tone. I could be the one taking you out, "Oh, I highly doubt th-" Her cocky tone broke off as she felt him suddenly behind her, the wind from his movement tasling her hair. Tensing up she was readying to fight back, her breath caught at her throat as she felt herself unable to move. She hissed, curling back her lips, pupils widening - his arms across her chest and waist were too sturdy to break free. A rush of thirst to rip him apart was ceased at the feeling of her rear pressing against him, the kick in her heart sent chills up her spine, since when did that beat?
Bewildered at seeing herself incapable of escaping his tantalizing grip, refusing to give in she squirmed within his arms - a feeble attempt to pry herself loose. Feeling his gentle lips upon the trace of her ear and neck, she froze, legs off the floor, letting him keep her up.
Turning her head to face him, they were so close she could look deep into his eyes if herself allowed it. Her plump, delicate lips were so close to his she could almost feel them. "Never." Whispered so low, it could hardly be considered a whisper.
Planting her legs upon the ground, she pushed back - pressing tightly against him, feeling him grip her tighter Jade shoved them against one of the bookshelves, still trying to twist her way out. His grip on her clothing was too tight, making her want to slip it off. Resisting the urge to bite his arm, she bit her bottom lip, giving Mord a deadly glare which ceased his growling.
No matter how much she hated loosing, she couldn't help but enjoy it. She could feel her small frame fit into his, her shoulders locking into place against his chest, her head comfortably placed at his neck, her hips locked into his own. Jade let her eyes trace his tensed muscular arms, keeping her close, a grin tickled her lips. Looking up at him she raised a challenging brow, "It's your move." keeping her eyes set on his she licked her lower lip. Because she simply could not move, and in all honesty she wasn't completely sure she wanted to, it was his turn. He really did have Jade confounded in the ways he worked, the mysteriousness of it all was a nice new twist to her.
