It was starting to get a bit too late into the night – at least, for most human’s likings. Fortunately for Evangeline, the lounge that she sang at, Moonlight, stayed open until about 2 AM. That gave her more than enough time to relax for a bit, have a few drinks, perform, mingle, and then return to her dressing room and relax some more – perhaps talk to some hopeful men who came to give her flowers or tell her how good her performance was in the hopes of getting inside of her dressing room – but she always kept them just outside the doorway, where she stood, a smile on her face as she accepted the flowers and the compliments.
The majority of the flattery had just ended, and her door was closed and locked. The only people who could get in now were the manager, and her husband, who she had given a key to. She wasn’t expecting him tonight though, unfortunately, as he had a gig of his own. The more she thought about it really, the funnier it was. Here her and her husband were, too vampires trying to make a normal living. Most vampires she knew made their living by taking the money and whatever else they could find off their victims – and Evangeline wasn’t going to lie, there was a point in her life where she had done such a thing as well.
But she wanted to do what she did best, and she was going to earn her money the right way. The humans were quite oblivious, even her boss, that she wasn’t like them. She was smart about her feeding, making sure that she didn’t feed on any customers or anyone that could be connected back to the lounge – she didn’t want to lose her job and have to move again. She liked it here, as did her husband, and it was nice to finally be able to settle down somewhere.
At the moment, she was sitting at her vanity, primping her hair. She had yet to change from her stage dress, in fact, she planned on wearing it for the rest of the night. It was a lovely dress, glittering with sparkles, and she could just put on a coat over it to make it a bit more unnoticeable when she was heading home. She just liked the way it made her feel… It was expensive and luxurious, therefore giving her a sense of worth and prestige. Vanity was her sin, and she was damn proud of it.
She could hear the muffled music of the performer that had followed her – a male singer who’s voice wasn’t bad, but certainly not as good as hers. She was the main act of the night, the one that was on stage now was just closing for her. After he was finished, the club would stay open for about another hour as people finally started to go home – and Evangeline would leave just as the doors were closing. From there, she would go out to feed, and then she would return to her home, where hopefully, her husband would be waiting for her.
Until then, she would spend her time lost in her thoughts and in her reflection – because despite what most people thought, vampires did have a reflection. Evangeline couldn’t bear the thought of not being able to see herself in a mirror… If that was the case, she wouldn’t want to be a vampire. But to have that immortality… The ability to never age… Well, maybe it would be worth it. Oh, well, she shouldn’t dwell on such a horrible thought. She could see herself in the mirror, and that was all that mattered to her at the moment.

A boy stood outside the lounge. His face was twisted in frustration as he stared up at the building. The line in the front had disappeared now. It was pretty late and a lot of people had gone on home. Emmett had been out here for quite a while now, trying to find a way in for about an hour now. He didn't really have a reason for wanting to get in, he was just curious as to what was inside. That and the fact that he wasn't even allowed in. That itself was enough to make him want in. There was something about rules that just made Emmett rebel. It was if they were made simply to break.
See, because to get in there, you had to be someone pretty special. Emmett wasn't special. At least, not according to the guard's standards. He had tried to get in earlier, but they had stopped him. Said he had to have a membership. Hah! He'd tried to sneak in again later, tagging along behind some group of people, but they had stopped him again. He was really starting to hate those guards. Emmett had even tried a back entrance and got caught. He had no idea what was so special about this place and its high maintenance security, but the more they tried to stop him from entering, the harder he tried.
All Emmett wanted to do was have a little fun, but nooo, they wouldn't let him into the lounge. Prestige? Nope. Wealth? Nope. Membership? Nope. He was just a regular guy, and apparently they had a thing against regular guys. Well, guess what? Screw the membership! He was going to get in there whether they liked it or not. And, he did. In the end, he ended up climbing through one of the windows off to the side. He wasn't sure where it would lead, but there was a tree right by it, making entrance easy. I guess no one had ever thought of sneaking in that way before, because there weren't any guards around to stop him this time.
Emmett eased open the window quietly, slowly sliding into the bright room. He landed on the ground inside with a light thump, and then looked around. He blinked a few times, sensitive eyes adjusting to the brightness of the lights. He wrinkled his nose, noticing the room kind of smelled like perfume. He could hear someone singing, but it was kind of faint. It sounded like a guy. Now he just had to figure out how to get... His thoughts trailed off as he noticed a girl was in the room with him. The boy's eyes widened and he sucked in his breath. "Oh, shit." Yeah, he was in trouble now.

Evangeline could have sworn she felt a slight breeze in her room all of a sudden, but she paid it no mind. She was too caught up in her thoughts as she now brought a brush to her hair, running it gently through each platinum blonde curl. It did get a bit boring as she waited for the club to close, but she really didn’t have anything better to do, seeing as how her husband was still at work, she couldn’t just go home and spend time with him. She would wait here, just in case any other fans would like to come and speak to her, or if her boss wanted to discuss anything with her… She rather hoped one of the two would happen, to keep her entertained.
Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately, to cure her boredom at least) for her, that breeze she thought she felt wasn’t just a random happenstance – it was because someone had opened the window in her dressing room – and had snuck inside. She had yet to even notice him, that was, until he spoke. His voice was barely above a whisper, but not only did vampires have incredibly sensitive hearing, he had interrupted her thoughts. In a quick second, she was up from her seat at her vanity, and she whipped around to face whoever was in her room, gripping her brush as if it was some sort of weapon she could use against him – even though she really didn’t need it – she was just taken by surprise.
She was even more surprised to see a young man now standing in her dressing room, looking rather taken off guard himself. Her window was open, which explained the breeze and how he had gotten in – and she made a mental note to get a lock put on that thing as soon as possible. She eyed the young man with a glare, millions of questions running through her mind as to why he was here. “Who are you?”
She demanded, her back against her vanity and her bright blue gaze locked onto him, “And why are you here?” Come to think of it, she had never seen this boy before – which meant he wasn’t a member her. She knew every member’s face by heart, and he was not registering in her mind. He was probably just some hooligan trying to sneak into the lounge – at least, she hoped he was. He could be something much worse, sneaking into her dressing room, but she tried not to think of such things. Besides, it wasn’t like she couldn’t fight back if he tried anything… She could probably kill him without a moment’s hesitation. It was as she was thinking these thoughts that her keen sense of smell picked up on something… Besides her perfume that ran through the room, she smelled… Werewolf. They had a distinctive dog-like smell that a vampire could pick up from a mile away… This boy was a werewolf?! Oh, great. Her eyes narrowed even more at him, and if he was listening carefully, he might have even heard a low growl come from her. It wasn’t that she had anything really against werewolves – it was just a natural reaction – and she just hated any encounters with the supernatural, even if she was a supernatural being herself, she preferred to stay away from all of that. She didn’t want to get dragged into the whole ‘vampires vs werewolves’ thing, and she didn’t want to make herself known to hunters either. As she waited for an answer from the boy, brush still gripped tightly in her hand, she looked him over multiple times. Well, he sure didn’t look like a werewolf… Then again, she had never really had that many run-ins with werewolves before. “Who are you?” That was the first question the girl asked him. He opened his mouth to say something, but she asked him another question before he could speak. “And why are you here?” Emmett really had no idea what to say. I mean… Hi my name is Emmett and I’m just sneaking into the lounge, I’m not a weirdo or anything so don’t mind me! Yeah. That didn’t really work so well. So, he just kind of stood there awkwardly, back against the wall. He rubbed his arm, something he did when he was nervous, and looked around the room, trying to avoid looking directly at the girl, whoever she was.
Emmett took a deep breath and sighed, preparing to answer her. As he inhaled though, something caught his attention. There was another scent in the room besides the perfume. He wrinkled his nose a little, eyes slowly resting on the girl. A vampire? Emmett had never met a vampire before, but he had heard stories about them in the wolf pack, and none of those stories were what you would call good. He had never smelled a vampire’s scent before either, but somehow he just knew this was it. It was exactly like what the other wolves had described. Of course, he couldn’t just go blurting out questions about her being a vampire. Anyway, he still had to answer hers.
“Er, this isn’t what it looks like…” he began, but then realized that was a lie. It was probably exactly what it looked like. Someone trying to sneak into the show. “I just wanted a peek,” he added, trying to look innocent. He wasn’t sure if the girl had realized he was a werewolf yet, but he was guessing she had by the look on her face. “Uh…um…” The thing was, Emmett was quite good at getting into trouble, it was getting out of trouble that was the hard part. “Uh, hi… I’m Emmett,” he said, trying to smile.

Evangeline watched the boy closely – it was quite obvious that he really didn’t mean her any harm, from the way he backed away from her until he was against the wall – but that didn’t mean she was going to let her guard down. She was more angry at him than anything from sneaking into her room, and she was not going to let him go without giving him some sort of punishment. Maybe she could just call for security, have them rough him up a little and throw him out – so he would know never to do such a stupid thing again. Honestly, there was a membership for a reason, so mutts (ha, forgive the pun) like him couldn’t get in.
She could tell from the way his nose scrunched up that he had picked up her scent as well. He was obviously very young, even for a werewolf, and she probably had quite a few years on him – he had probably never met a vampire before. While she had never met a werewolf before, that was simply because she made sure to avoid them. As soon as she got the hint of a werewolf’s scent, she was sure to turn the other direction and leave. She wanted nothing to do with the supernatural (besides herself and her husband, of course) , and until now, she had kept it that way.
Her eyes narrowed dangerously when he began to speak – of course this was what it looked like! His attempt at being innocent was not going to sway her anger with him! However, she did lower her brush-turned-weapon back down to her vanity, she wasn’t going to need it. This boy probably couldn’t hurt a fly if he tried. She now put one hand on her hip in exasperation, as most women did when they were angry or frustrated, and waited for him to give her a good excuse.
Why was she even waiting? She shouldn’t even give him a chance to explain, she should just have him thrown out! …Maybe that innocent look of his was getting to her. No! He was a werewolf! He was not innocent! He had just snuck into one of the most prestigious clubs in Ashshire, and into her dressing room none the less! He was a delinquent! All these thoughts ran through her head, but she did not do anything yet… She would give him one chance.
And so, he introduced himself. A bold move – not even giving her a reason or excuse as to why he was doing this! She scoffed slightly at him, but she relaxed a bit more – he was just a kid trying to see what the high life was like, that was all. “Well, Emmett, I must say, my husband wouldn’t appreciate the fact that a strange boy is in my dressing room,” She responded, now folding her arms across her chest, “But I suppose I really had no part in this – I am just a victim…. My name is Evangeline.”
Yes, she was trying to make him feel guilty for breaking into her room, she hoped it was working. “So why don’t you give me a good reason why I shouldn’t have security come and give you the punishment you deserve?” [/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STATUS: Finished! “Well, Emmett, I must say, my husband wouldn’t appreciate the fact that a strange boy is in my dressing room." Emmett shuffled his feet, looking a little embarrassed. "I didn't know this was a dressing room," he mumbled under his breath. He really hadn't. He'd just seen an open window and dove on through without really thinking. That was his problem. He never thought anything through first. He kept reminding himself to start doing that, but he never would. It was a bad habit of his.
Emmett had managed to get in, but at this rate he wasn't going to get to see the actual lounge. Not that he should be worrying about that right now. He had other things he should be paying attention to. Like that girl and the glare she was giving him. Emmett tried to avoid looking in her direction. She was giving him a really dirty look. He knew he deserved it though. If someone went sneaking into his room he'd probably be a little ticked off too. Still, it was her own fault for leaving the window open. That had been too tempting to pass up.
The woman, who he now knew was called Evangeline, started telling him how she was a victim and what not. Emmett just rolled her eyes. Jeez. It wasn't like she'd been changing or anything. She was just lucky he wasn't some psycho axe murderer or something escaped from jail. That would really be bad. He was tempted to say that, but he decided against it, just keeping his mouth shut and being good. He got the idea she was trying to make him feel guilty. She didn't have to, he already did. "Hey, look... I said I was sorry," he told her, holding up his hands.
“So why don’t you give me a good reason why I shouldn’t have security come and give you the punishment you deserve?” Emmett really couldn't think of anything to say. He stood there, giving her a blank look. "Cause uh... uh..." He trailed off, scratching his head. "Hmm..." he trailed off, seeming to get lost in thought. Usually Emmett had a good come back, but right now he just couldn't think. "I'll go werewolf on them?" It sounded more like a question. And then, more confidently, "Yeah, that's what I'll do. I think I can take 'em." He rolled up one of his sleeves.

Evangeline caught what he muttered under his breath about not knowing it was a dressing room - and she figured he was telling the truth - but that still didn't cause her glare to soften any. He shouldn't be sneaking in any window, whether he knew it was a dressing room or not! Her guilt tactics were working, though, seeing as how he didn't meet her gaze. This caused her to smirk ever so slightly to herself, though that quickly disappeared as she regained her 'angry' demeanor.
When she caught his roll of the eyes, her eyes narrowed even more. How dare he roll his eyes at her? She had every right to be mad at him! She watched carefully as he raised his hands almost in a sort of surrender, and repeated that he was sorry. She had half a mind to go off on him again, but she sighed softly to herself. He was just a boy... A werewolf, but a young boy none the less - and he was good at playing the innocent card... However, his answer to her next question both surprised and annoyed her.
And yet, it somewhat amused her. Her expression softened just a tad as she smirked slightly and cocked an eyebrow at him. "Oh, I'm sure,"
She responded with a small scoff, "I would certainly like to see you try, though." She added with a small nod towards the door, as if to egg him on. It would make for an interesting night, that was for sure. Now that she had relaxed a bit... She had to admit, this kid was not as bad as she had first assumed she was. It was just the shock and anger of someone sneaking into her bedroom that had pissed her off the most - and then the added factor that he was a werewolf... Well, that hadn't helped much. But the way he was handling the situation made her realize that he was somewhat innocent in the fact that he hadn't meant to sneak into her dressing room, and he had only wanted to see how the rich and high class lived their life. Should she give him a taste, take him around the club? She pondered it for a moment - should she do what she had originally planned, throw him to the guards and let them do what they did best, or should she reward his effort and show off everything she could to him? "Well, I suppose that since you're already here... I might as well show you around," She began, having made up her mind, "Unless, of course, you'd prefer to have a fight to the death with security?" He would probably be surprised by her sudden change of mood, but Evangeline was the queen of mood swings - and she wanted to show this boy everything that he was missing in life by giving him the grand tour.
