- - - - overall personality,
Annelise is a kind, if somewhat shy girl, usually when she's out from behind the counter of her floral shop. When she's working, there is always a smile on her face and she is always rushing about busily to fill out orders. When work hours are over, she tends to stick to the background. She doesn't like to make confrontations, but if she is confronted, she's willing to talk. You just have to start the conversation usually. Growing up as an only child, she learned to trust everyone and always finds good in people. She speaks quietly, but her opinions are strong once she finds the support she needs to voice them. Even when people betray or cheat her, she still justifies their intentions with something heroic or tragic. If someone needs help, she will do her best to help them. She is very motherly, and usually has one or two strays living with her at a time. Her emotions can jump all over the spectrum, but they are not dramatic. She has learned to let go of emotions after they have lost their purpose, for after they only bring her down. She is typically a happy person and on her free days is either in her gardens or out catching butterflies.

- - - - pets, a tamed raccoon named Fritjof, usually called Fritz.
- - - - overall history,
Born in the Netherlands July 12th, Annelise was an only child of a teacher and an attorney. She was slightly spoiled, but when it came to friends, she always shared. She continually wished for a sister or brother, but that never happened. When she was eleven, her family moved to America. Because of her terribly thick accent, she had trouble making friends and eventually became extremely shy. her parents also weren't as rich as they had been in the Netherlands, so her clothes usually were form thrift stores, which started her on her vintage obsession. It wasn't until high school that she became to come out of her shell when her parents pushed her to join the European Club, where she met many people that appreciated her for her distinct heritage and language. She became friends with the indie scene, fascinated by people who shared her love of vintage. She also was drawn into their Spiritualist beliefs. It was from these people that she drew her distinct taste for indie music, which constantly fills her flower shop now. Annelise dropped out of college after her grades slipped from all the time she spent in the gardens on the campus. Her parents were terribly angry with her decision, so she moved far away. Here, she attended a community and online college to earn a business degree and started up a small nursery and floral store. She currently lives in the downtown area above her store.
- - - - roleplay sample,
Annelise took a deep breath in to calm herself with the different scents from each flower bunch, each very unique, even among its kin. She flipped the Open/Closed sign to show 'Open' to the outside streets. Sashaying into the back room of the store, she turned on the speaker system which began filtering 'Butterfly Nets' by the Bishop Allen through the speakers. There was a whole album of their songs to go through before Laura Marling, Noah and The Whale, and Lightning Dust. Her first customer was a young man that looked quite frazzled. Spinning about to face him, she smiled widely at him.
"May I help you, sir?" she asked, her soft voice filling the shop. He placed his hands on the counter, then picked one up and ran it through his hair and down his face. He shot his eyes over to Annie and opened his mouth several times before his words came out.
"I, uhm, got into a fight with my girlfriend last night and I - I said a lot of things I didn't mean, and..." Here he paused and looked around the shop. "We've been dating for over a year now, and I love her and I want to be with her forever and-" Annie had heard enough now to know what to do. She held up a finger to silence him. "I'll just be a moment," she chimed, and hurried to the back, picking out her best blooms of white and red anemones, a single calla lily, myrtles, white primroses, blue salvia, burnet roses, and a handful of red, white and moss rosebuds. She threw in some baby's breath and maidenhair fern at the last moment. These were all flowers that confessed love. Wrapping them in delicate tissue paper and then in a shimmering tulle fabric, Annie returned to the frazzled man, whose eyes widened. "Well, uhm, I'd been thinking roses..." Annelise clucked her tongue, shaking her head. "Oh, no, you don't want that. Roses are so common. This actually has a personal touch." She handed the bouquet and a small card and pen to the man. "Right something down, or just put 'I love you' and tell her exactly what you told me. I'm sure it'll be better soon." The man reached in his back pocket to pay her, putting his cash on the table. Giving him back his change, the young man walked out dazed, touching the calla lily gently. "Well, she does love this kind of flower..." Annelise rested her head in her hands, smiling. Another good job.
